QUESTION: You mention that "This tape will work as long as there is an air gap". My question is, Is there a minimun distance gap to work properly? I'm looking into aftermarket fairings and was thinking of linining the entire inside of the fairings with this product and I know the lowers are VERY close to the exaust pipe. Thank you for your time!
ANSWER: Reflective aluminum is most effective with a 3/4 inch air space.
|
QUESTION: I have a high mount exhaust and it is really close to my carbon fiber exhaust and it gets really hot. cna i use this tape to protect my plastic in the small area where its too close, so i wont melt the plastic?
ANSWER: This tape will work as long as there is an air gap - it will NOT work if it is touching the hot surface. If applied carefully to a clean surface (clean with rubbing alcohol) it should be cosmetically acceptable. This may be the best possible solution for the application you describe. If you were to wrap the pipe with heat wrap it would probably fill the small gap causing it to touch, and would not look good. Protecting the plastic with a radiant barrier is the correct solution.

QUESTION: dumb question for you from a newer sport bike rider. Can I use this product to wrap the exhaust from the headers back to help reduce the heat that I can feel on my legs and reduce the temp with my undertail exhaust? Thank you Robert
ANSWER: You should use exhaust wrap for this.
|
QUESTION: Hi: Does the foil face in or out? Thanks. Chris
ANSWER: This is an actual roll of tape. Sticky on the inside, foil on the outside.
